The Story – Subtly Whispered

Dee, the founder of Subtle Whisper, grew up consistently expressing her natural flare and love for drawing. Little did she know this would be the stepping stones to her brand.

Through Dee's schooling years, she excelled in Art & Design - her family and friends always enjoyed attending her exhibitions to see her creations. Dee also enjoyed English Literature, where she expressed a talent for creative writing.

Dee’s love for the arts took her to York St. John University, where she graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Art & Design.

Following university, Dee opened up a shop with a friend in York city centre, d2-to love design. Boasting many of her artistic creations, she also sourced authentic African crockery and pottery.

After two years of working on d2-to love design through the economic downturn, Dee moved back to the south of the U.K. to pursue what would become Subtle Whisper

Dee’s published poetry became the springboard to creating a luxury brand of giftware, with a poetic edge – that would enable simple sentiment and effortless present giving.

Combined with Dee’s poetry, love for luxurious wrapping and giving gifts to family & friends – the drive to create a brand that would inspire others with emotive gifts and simply elegant aesthetics, brought Subtle Whisper to life.

Dee worked on creations and products for Subtle Whisper for a few years before launching the online shop in 2015.

With brand awareness growing, Dee has developed many product ranges & collections, with intent to grow and diversify further.

To date, Subtle Whisper’s founder is very much inspired by her past, present and future…
